KILOJOULE NETWORK

A NETWORK OF CREATIVE VISIONARIES

IN 2017, MY FRIENDS AND I STARTED DESIGNING CLOTHING AND ORGANISING PARTIES AND OTHER EVENTS. THIS EVENTUALLY RESULTED IN KILOJOULE NETWORK, A COMMUNITY OF CREATIVE VISIONAIRS

In 2017, my frineds and I started desinging clothing and organizing parties and other events. This eventually resulted in Kilojoule Network, a community of creative visionairies.

Our mission? To spark and fuel a network of creative visionaries by moving youth to embrace the creative

mind.

We believe that the absence of artistic understanding mutes the potential of an individual. Having felt and seen the lack of alternative cultures in our small hometown, we wanted to give the youth a place of belonging and creative blooming. Moreover, working with like-minded people is in the end empowering and we want to share this energy.

MY ROLE

If I would describe my role within Kilojoule Network in one sentence, I would say that my role is managing the projects, group dynamics and collaborations. We started Kilojoule Network with a total of eight people, which is already a rather large number of people to start a business with. What makes it even more difficult is that they all are friends of each other. My job is to make sure everyone is at ease with each other and able to perform to their best. This means preparing plans, leading meetings and talk out misunderstandings. Also, I make sure everyone is on the same page, safeguarding the vision/mission of Kilojoule and composing a matching marketing strategy.

“ I also manage the financial resources and determin the budgets for many project ”

MY THOUGHTS

Managing a projects with a group of friends often means to have to talk and solve our misconceptions and misunderstandings. This taught me to be very emphatic over the years. Importantly, In order to align each project and applying marketing strategies to the vision/ mission and plan of Kilojoule Network as a whole, I developed my conceptual thinking skills.
